The patented cooling pieces are made of highly thermally conductive graphite with a hydrophilic coating that optimizes the uptake and evaporation of the water, which helps create a cooling effect on your body. When water or sweat evaporates it absorbs energy. In humans, this evaporation happens on the surface of the skin, absorbing heat and cooling the body. Through our technology, the graphite pieces increase the surface area from which water can evaporate, producing a cooling effect. Water is absorbed into the porous graphite where it has about 5x the amount of surface area for evaporation. Because the cooling effect is driven by water evaporation, it will continue forever – as long as the pieces are wet and exposed to airflow. The cooling pieces are sold either as a bundle with your choice of headgear or separately in 20-pack. Cooling pieces can easily be moved between headgear.
