Initial Consultation (30mins):

• The first consultation reviews your current and previous health.
• An explanation will be given on what to expect from the genetic tests, and together we’ll identify your nutrition and health goals, and which genetic test is required.
• These tests are done with a cheek swab kit and can be done on-site (at practice) or taken home and couriered to the laboratory.
• Steps involved to do the DNA test:
  1. Pick up test kit which contains an earbud looking thing to take a swab spit from your mouth.

  2. And also fill in the form with the kit (sign consent).

  3. Then the practitioner will create an online profile for you on the DNA website and it will send an email to you so that you can login on that website and pay via credit card. The amounts will show in pound/ dollars but it will be equivalent to the rand value as indicated on the pricelist.

  R180 courrier fee will be added to that amount to get the kit to the lab.

  4. When payment is done the courrier will pick up the DNA kit.

   

Interpretation consultation (1hr):

• Feedback session on the results
• Your genetic results take about two weeks to be sent back from the laboratory; upon return your practitioner will make an appointment with you.
• During this session a complete and detailed discussion of your results will be addressed – developing your personalised diet, lifestyle and medical recommendations.
